NaNa aka MaMa Zahara
Injera Master, Buna Barista & Hostest
Born in Ethiopia, Zahara, or Nana as she is lovingly called, provides the family with stories, cultural information and delicious meals. When Jara and Christal got married, she began teaching Christal how to make some of the cultural dishes, starting with her amazing gomen (collard greens) and ending the 10 year course with injera!
Zahara is retired, so she is not tethered to the restaurant, but when she is in town, she is in charge with injera production, buna making and the ceremony, training staff and engaging with the customers. She is also a co-author of the translation books and Zien's Z's that her and Christal came up with. She has a zest for life, loves meeting new people, she is a gem to her family and she deeply loves all of her grandchildren. We are sure that our guest will fall in love with Nana, just as we all have.
